Introduce the Patek Philippe annual calendar 5235G

First introduced in 2011, the annual calendar Ref. 5235G - the only model in the brand catalog, made in the style of a watch-regulator. The dial is light gray, with a vertical matte finish. The first thing that catches your eye when looking at these clocks - the windows of the day and month indicators on either side of the counter with the hour hand are arranged asymmetrically, which is explained by the design features of the mechanism. The Patek Philippe logo was moved from the traditional position at the top of the dial to the position at the 3 o'clock mark. The letters are deeply embedded in the dial, but are not filled with lacquer. This feature is not found in any other model. Interestingly, if you look at the clock at a certain angle, the logo almost disappears from the dial.

The shape of the ears of the case reminds us of the vintage eternal calendars of Patek Philippe Ref. 3448 and 3450. Unique in this watch is not only the body, but also the clasp. Performed in the Art Deco style, a figured buckle with relief engraving Patek Philippe is found only on this model.

Patek Philippe Ref. 5235G
At rather moderate sizes - the case diameter is 40.5 mm - the visual clock looks bigger, which can be explained by light colors in the design and a thin bezel that leaves more space for the dial.

Inside the case is a caliber 31-260, which Patek Philippe uses only in this watch. This is the only serial mechanism of the brand, equipped with a silicon descent Pulsomax and a silicon spring balance Spiromax. Excellent finish trim does not compensate for the significant technical drawback of the mechanism: the calendar displays here are adjusted only sequentially by means of buttons located on the left side of the case. A separate button that would simultaneously change the date, day of the week and month is not provided. The approximate cost of the model is $ 49,900.
